METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF SEPSIS IN SEVERELY INJURED FROM BURN INJURY Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G01N33/49

Abstract RU 2744145 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to combustiology, and can be used in treating patients with burns for prediction of sepsis development. Method for prediction of sepsis in the severely affected by burn injury by analyzing blood serum on the first post-traumatic day consists in the fact that the level of soluble defensins in the venous blood of the affected individuals is determined, and if their content is not less than 500,000 pg/ml, developing sepsis is predicted.

EFFECT: invention enables the timely initiation of the targeted antibacterial therapy, thereby reducing the burn injury mortality.
