FIELD: restoration of parts.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the restoration and strengthening of parts by electric contact welding of steel belts. Before welding, the part is perforated from the side facing the filler tape by drilling rows of blind conical holes at an angle corresponding to the angle of the tape run-in with the electrode roller. The depth of the holes is equal to the difference between the thickness of the tape and the defective metal coating layer removed during subsequent machining. The pitch of the holes is taken to be equal to the feed of the roller-electrode along the axis of the shaft. The mode of electric contact welding is selected from the condition of complete filling of the volume of blind holes with filler metal. Welding of the additive is carried out on the jumpers between the rows of holes. When the heated to plastic filler metal moves along the surface of the part to be restored, dense hydroxide films are destroyed, which allows achieving the highest possible strength of the welded joint formed in the solid phase.
EFFECT: shape and depth of the holes allow reducing the metal loss of the filler tape during drilling.
