FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: method can be used for reconditioning worn-out surfaces of parts by electric contact welding of metal powders. Performed is welding a filler material containing a steel mesh and a powder. Determined is porosity of the obtained metal coating as the ratio of volume of pores, cavities and discontinuities to its total volume. Filler material is used made in the form of a filled with granules of a metal powder container made of a steel mesh, gaps of which are less than sizes of the said granules. Square of the container is selected in accordance with the square of the reconditioned surface taking into account its longitudinal and transverse deformations during welding. Predetermined are the weight and the volume of the container mesh wires and the metal powder granules. After welding the said filler onto the worn-out surface the metal coating thickness is measured and its total volume is determined. Calculated is the volume of pores, cavities and discontinuities in the interlayer of the metal powder with due allowance for the said volume of the container mesh wires and the metal powder granules.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain a high-quality metal coating and simplifies determination of its porosity.
