FIELD: copper hydrometallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydrometallurgy of copper and can be used in the processing of solutions obtained in the leaching of copper ores, concentrates and other industrial waste containing copper. Isolation of Cu2O from a multicomponent sulfate solution of heavy non-ferrous metals is carried out by processing to obtain CuSO4 and further precipitation of copper in the form of a CuCl salt then subsequently exposure to it with the previously obtained copper powder and obtaining copper oxide (I). Calcium dichloride is added to the original multicomponent sulfate solution in the form of a solution or a solid product in an amount necessary to achieve an ionic concentration ratio Cu + 2: Cl- = 1: 2 in the solution, to obtain gypsum (CaSO4) in the precipitate, which is then separated. Copper powder is added to the remaining solution in an amount equal to the amount of Cu+ 2 in the solution, while copper (II) is reduced to copper (I) and a precipitate of copper (I) chloride is isolated, which is washed with water and re-treated with calcium dichloride to obtain a chloro complex solution copper (I) CuCl2-. Slaked lime Ca (OH) 2 is added to the obtained copper (I) chlorocomplex when heated to 80 °С. After that, copper (I) oxide Cu2O is obtained by its hydrolytic decomposition. Then the precipitate of copper oxide Cu2O is separated from the solution and washed with water, and the filtrate – the CaCl2 solution is returned to the process.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the degree of selectivity of copper oxide separation from multicomponent sulfate solutions of non-ferrous metals.
