FIELD: combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a NОх trap for exhaust systems of internal combustion engines and to a method for purifying exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine. The NОх catalyst trap contains a substrate, a first layer, and a second layer. The first layer contains a NOx trap composition containing one or more noble metals, a NOx preservation component, a first carrier, and a first cerium-containing material, where the first cerium-containing material is pre-aged before being introduced into the first layer. The second layer contains rhodium, a second cerium-containing material, and a second carrier, where the second cerium-containing material is not pre-aged before being introduced into the second layer. The invention also includes exhaust systems comprising a given NOx trap catalyst and a method for purifying exhaust gas using this NOx trap catalyst.
EFFECT: improved exhaust gas purification system quality.
