FIELD: medical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates namely to the method of radio thermometry, based on non-invasive detection of temperature anomalies of internal tissues of biological objects by measuring the intensity of their own electromagnetic radiation. The objective of the invention is to create an antenna-applicator, which allows you to increase the sensitivity of the radio thermometer, and at the same time to simplify the manufacture of the antenna by eliminating dielectric filling with a high dielectric constant of the material. Antenna-applicator contains a section of a waveguide having one closed end in contact with a biological object, and a system for exciting electromagnetic waves connected to the input part of the microwave radiothermometer. A slit is cut at the closed end of the waveguide, and the exciting device is made in the form of a coaxial cable connected by external and internal conductors with opposite sides of the slit. The section of the waveguide is filled with air. The slit is made in the form of two sectors connected by vertices.
EFFECT: achieved is non-invasive temperature measurement of internal tissues by a novel method.
