FIELD: location-based services.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to location-based service provision. To achieve a technical result, the device 100 for location-based services comprises a sensor for identifying the orientation 10, 20 of the device 100, a processor for receiving the orientation 10, 20 of the devices 100 and for launching the first application 111 which relates to the mapping, positioning and navigation group and the second application 112, other than the first application 111 and a display 600 to display the applications. Meanwhile, the processor is capable of launching the first application 111 when the device 100 is in the first orientation 10 and the second application 112 when the device 100 is in the second orientation 20, with the device 100 being in the first orientation 10 if the display of 600 is within 30 degrees of a plane perpendicular to gravitational force, the device 100 being in the second orientation 20 if the display 600 is within 30 degrees of a plane parallel to gravitational force.

EFFECT: the technical result consists in ensuring configuring the user interface in accordance with the application used and spatial orientation of the device.
