SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of synthesizing zeolite, a composition for treating an exhaust gas containing zeolite crystals having an AEI framework and optionally an ITE framework and containing copper, a catalytic product for treating an exhaust gas, and a method for treating an exhaust gas. The method of synthesizing zeolite includes making a reaction mixture containing (a) at least one source of alumina, (b) at least one source of silicon dioxide, (c) an amine organic templating agent containing a transition metal, which is Cu-tetraethylenepentamine (Cu -TEPA), (d) an alkali metal hydroxide, and (e) the second organic templating agent, which differs from the first organic templating agent and is chosen from the group consisting of N, N-dimethyl-3.5-dimethylpiperidinium and 1.1-diethyl-2.6-dimethylpiperidinium in which each amine organic templating agent containing a transition metal and each second templating agent, which differs from each amine organic templating agent containing a transition metal, is suitable for the formation of an AEI framework structure, and this reaction mixture contains practically no fluorine. After that the reaction mixture is heated under autogenous pressure at a temperature of from 100 up to 200°C for 1-20 days for the formation of zeolite crystals having an AEI framework and optionally an ITE framework and containing copper.
EFFECT: effective method for producing zeolite with a more equal distribution of copper.
