SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a steam supply system, the main unit of the steam supply system, a component for inhaling the steam supply system, a steam supply device and a method for generating steam. The vapor delivery system contains a component for inhalation and a main unit, the component for inhalation contains a heat accumulator, and the main unit contains a receiving area that is configured to position the component for inhalation, and a source of energy for heating the heat accumulator in the component for inhalation when that component is located in the receiving area so that heat from the heated heat storage is used to vaporize at least a portion of the vapor feed material to produce vapor for inhalation by the user when the inhalation component is removed from the receiving area. The main unit further comprises a sensor for determining when the inhalation component should be removed from the receiving area, and the energy source for heating the heat storage device is configured to heat the heat storage device in response to the sensor detecting that the inhalation component should be removed from the receiving area. The comparatively high heat capacity of the heat accumulator contributes to the fact that more starting material can be vaporized, but a longer heating time can be expected. The comparatively low heat capacity of the heat accumulator allows the feedstock to be heated faster, but the production of steam before it is cooled down will be less.

EFFECT: choice is made according to the desired properties in terms of balancing the heating rate and the amount of steam that can be vaporized for each use.
