It describes granules consisting of alpha-lactose monohydrate for use as a carrier for dry powder compositions for inhalation, said granules having a mass diameter of 200 to 800 micrometers and characterized as having surface pores with a perimeter of 70 to 300 micrometers, a diameter from 30 to 100 micrometers, a depth of 40-80 micrometers, with a specific surface area of ​​0.13 to 0.20 m²/g, while these granules have a fragility of less than 3%.

EFFECT: technical result is to provide carrier particles capable of containing higher amounts of micronized drugs and/or small particles without affecting the flow properties of important powder compositions.
