FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology. The patient in a seated position after local anesthesia undergoes paracentesis of the tympanic membrane in the posterior-inferior quadrant. Then the edges of the perforation are expanded in a blunt way. After hemostasis, using microtweezers, a sterile cotton swab is placed on the tympanic membrane in the area of perforation. The swab is pressed against the perforated area. Next, the patient performs the Valsalva test which leads to the evacuation of the discharge from the tympanic cavity and absorption into a cotton swab.
EFFECT: method allows you to obtain a sufficient amount of discharge from the tympanic cavity for diagnostic research quickly and in a minimally invasive manner.
