SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the woodworking industry, in particular to the production of thermally modified solid wood. Disclosed is thermally modified solid wood obtained by a process in which wood is dried to an average moisture content of less than 5% at an average wood temperature of less than 100 °C followed by an increase in the temperature of the wood to a level above 140 °C.

EFFECT: bending strength of the wood is increased.
