SUBSTANCE: The invention relates to the formation of a coating to protect transparent monolithic polycarbonate from abrasion and can be used in aircraft construction, automotive, construction, instrument making. A method of forming a protective coating on a transparent monolithic polycarbonate includes applying a solution based on a thermosetting coating aqueous-alcoholic polysiloxane composition to the polycarbonate and curing it. An amino-functional trialkoxysilane is additionally added to the solution of the composition in an amount of 1-20 mass percent by dry residue and a mixture of solvents isopropanol / n-butanol in a ratio of 1: 1, respectively, by weight in an amount of 325 - 375 g, stirred, applied to polycarbonate, dried at a temperature of 15 - 25 ° C for 20-30 minutes and cured at a temperature of 115-125 ° C for 60-120 minutes.

EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining a single-layer coating with high adhesion to polymer glass, abrasion resistance and optical transparency.
