FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a transporting and holding apparatus for a glass sheet, especially in a horizontal position, and to a washer system for glass sheets comprising such device and a method for implementation thereof. Apparatus is comprised of a transporting device and a holding device. The holding device is comprised, on one side, at least two transportation systems (10A, 10B) located at a distance and parallel - lateral transportation systems, and multiple spaced wires (11A; 11B) extending across the lateral transport systems and restrained by the lateral systems. On the other side, the holding device is comprised of a delivery device (5) for pressurized jets of water and/or air with their spraying onto the upper side of the glass sheet opposite to the side thereof supported by the wires for keeping the glass sheet pressed to the wires. The glass sheet is configured to be locally supported by at least all or some of the lateral sides thereof on the wire.
EFFECT: solid hold of a glass sheet during transportation and in target application during washing, optimal washing of the surface of the two sides of the glass sheet including the periphery of the glass sheet.
