SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of transportation of paper sheets. The paper sheet conveying device includes a friction conveying device and a control unit that controls the conveying path, a paper sheet detection sensor that detects when a paper sheet enters the conveying path, and a driving force source in which the control unit rotates the drive roller in the normal direction by driving in the action of the driving force based on the paper sheet detection signal from the paper sheet detection sensor. The frictional transport device contains a driving unit, a driving force source and a driven unit, which is located facing the driving unit. The driving unit includes at least one driving roller having an outer periphery in the form of a conical surface or an arc of a circle, mounted with the possibility of rotation around a shaft orthogonal to the normal direction of transport of the paper sheet, and with the ability to move in the axial direction, an elastic biasing element, which elastically biases the drive roller in the axial direction, and a cam mechanism that transfers the driving force from the driving force source to the driving roller. The cam mechanism includes a cam element that is located with the possibility of relative rotation relative to the drive roller and coaxial with it, one cam element that is located on the drive roller or on the cam element, another cam element that is located on the cam element or on the drive roller, and a stopper, which is made on the other element of the cam mechanism for adjusting the relative movement between one element of the cam mechanism and another element of the cam mechanism. The driven unit includes a driven roller having axially differently shaped outer periphery sections, made so that the shape of the periphery of the central section is rectilinear, and the shape of the periphery of each end section capable of coming into contact with the driving roller has a conical shape. The driven roller changes the transport engagement between the drive roller and the paper sheet in accordance with the change in the axial position of the drive roller. The frictional transport device contains an electric actuator that changes the axial position of the drive roller against the action of the elastic displacement force. The outer periphery of the driven roller of the driven unit may be rectilinear with center and end portions having different coefficients of friction, such that the coefficient of friction of the center portion is different from the coefficient of friction of each of the end portions capable of contacting the drive roller.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at correcting the position of the paper sheet inserted from different positions and angles to a normal transport state without any deformation due to contact with the side wall during continuous and non-stop transport of the paper sheet.
