FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, namely to systems for emergency start of the engine by creating a short-term torque on the crankshaft of the engine without the expenditure of muscular strength or insufficient capacity of the battery. The device for starting an internal combustion engine in emergency situations consists of a brake drum (1), a ratchet drum (4) with a toothed ring, a locking mechanism and a spring (5). The brake drum is rigidly connected to the crankshaft (2) of the engine and is equipped with brake pads (3). The ratchet drum is mounted on a support with the possibility of free rotation. The spring, located between the two drums, is rigidly connected to the ratchet drum at one end, and the other end is placed on the brake drum with the possibility of its automatic disengagement and contact with the brake drum, allowing the engine crankshaft to rotate freely. The locking mechanism is made in the form of a swinging three-arm lever (8), which is connected by means of two ratchet rods (6, 7) with a toothed ring of a ratchet drum, which serves to twist the spring when the brake pads of the brake drum are clamped.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing efficiency of starting the internal combustion engine in extreme situations.
