FIELD: substrate texturing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for applying textures to a substrate. Textures are applied using a pair of work rolls. Each pair of work rolls includes an upper work roll and a lower work roll vertically oriented relative to the upper work roll. The upper work roll and the lower work roll are supported by intermediate rolls. Along the intermediate rolls there are drives arranged to transfer loads to the intermediate rolls. The intermediate rolls transfer the load to the work rolls, whereby the work rolls, when the substrate passes between them, transfer the working roll pressure to the substrate, which is below the yield point of the substrate material. The drives are made with the possibility of adjustment in the vertical direction to control the specified load and adjustment in the transverse direction relative to the corresponding work roll.

EFFECT: creation of local plastic deformation on the surface of the metal substrate without changing the overall thickness of the metal substrate.
