SUBSTANCE: invention relates to road-building machines and is intended for compacting road surfaces, foundations and soil. The vibration drum of a road roller includes a housing fixed inside the drum, a support, a hydraulic motor, a gear train, a hydraulic cylinder, an unbalanced shaft, and a spring. The drum contains a lockable differential, which includes a housing, a drive gear mounted on the drive shaft, three satellites, a driven gear connected to an unbalanced shaft mounted on bearings inside a hollow shaft, to which the lockable differential housing and unbalance are attached. The drum contains a differential lock mechanism, which includes a drive gear, a half-coupling mounted on a pusher shaft, which has the ability to move freely relative to the drive shaft. The spline part of the pusher shaft and the spring are installed in the spline hole of the unbalance shaft. The drum contains an unbalance shaft sensor, a hollow shaft sensor, and a brake half-coupling mounted on the pusher shaft.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of the process of compaction of the road surface with a roller drum.
