FIELD: biomass fuel.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solid fuels from biomass. A method for producing solid fuel from biomass is described, in which the mutual binding or adhesion between the particles of pulverized biomass is preserved after immersion in water, including: a molding stage for molding particles of pulverized wood-based biomass, having a particle size of 100 to 3000 microns, into unheated biomass blocks and a heating stage for heating the unheated biomass blocks to produce a heated solid product, and the said heated solid product is used as a solid fuel from biomass; while the specified method does not include the stage of steam explosion of biomass, the heating temperature at the heating stage is from 150 to 400°C and solid fuel from biomass is characterized by a fuel ratio (bound carbon/volatile matter) from 0.15 to 1.50, the highest calorific value per dry mass of fuel from 4500 to 7000 (kcal/kg per dry mass), the molar ratio of oxygen O to carbon C (O/C) from 0.1 to 0.7 and the molar ratio of hydrogen H to carbon C (H/C) from 0.70 up to 1.40, and also contains no binder.

EFFECT: production of solid fuel from biomass, which has a low COD of the discharged water in the event of exposure to rainwater and the like, while suppressing increased cost.
