SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to obtain material for the production of pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, liquid crystal compounds. The method for producing sulfur tetrafluoride includes the stage of carrying out a reaction between a fluorinated halogen compound and sulfur chloride at a temperature from -20°C to 100°C. The fluorinated halogen compound is IF5, BrF3, or a combination thereof.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify the production of sulfur tetrafluoride SF4 from available raw materials without a high-temperature reaction and the use of a solvent.
