SUBSTANCE: group of inventions discloses a system and a method of regulating and/or optimizing a fermentation process carried out in at least one U-shaped loop fermenter, wherein the system includes the following: at least one U-shaped loop fermenter operably connected to a computer; a computer including a processor and operably connected to a database; at least one analysis device for repeatedly providing a test value of at least one parameter from one U-shaped loop fermenter; a data interface for repeatedly entering a test value of at least one parameter into a database; a database including at least one control value; wherein the database is configured to store a number of database entries representing a test value of at least one parameter at different times, and is configured to store a number of database entries representing a control value at different times, wherein the processor is programmed to execute at least one mathematical analysis of the test value to provide a calculated test value and/or a control value to provide at least one calculated control value; and selecting, based on the calculated test value and/or the calculated control value, which must be introduced into the at least one other U-loop fermenter to benefit from the change made in the one U-loop fermenter.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to optimize the fermentation process with improved performance, in particular during the start-up phase.
