FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment and can be used in electrochemical corrosion protection systems of underground metal structures, specifically for measuring polarizing potential. The method of measurement of polarizing potential of an underground metal structure characterized by cyclical repetition of a complex of actions called a measurement cycle, said complex of actions consisting of a polarization phase, a delay phase and a measurement phase, as applied to the pulse nature of the output signal of the cathode station, during the polarization phase coinciding with the action time of the output pulse of the cathode station polarization of the potential detector is carried out, and during the delay phase and the measurement phase coinciding with the pause between the output pulses of the cathode station the possibility of such polarization is eliminated; wherein the duration of the delay phase is set sufficient to eliminate the ohmic component of the potential, and the potential difference between the reference electrode and the potential detector measured during the measurement phase is recorded as the polarizing potential, wherein throughout all phases of the potential measurement cycle the interfering signal change is monitored, and measurement of the polarization component of the potential is carried out if the value of the interfering signal does not exceed the discrimination threshold of potential measurement.
EFFECT: improved polarizing potential measurement accuracy and improved quality of interference signal control for the pulse nature of the output signal of the cathode current source.
