FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for verifying measurements of the salinity of sea water. The essence of the invention consists in the fact that a series of parallel samples is taken at the same time at at least 30 stations covering the entire salinity range of sea waters in the study area. In each sample, the chlorine content and electrical conductivity of sea water are determined by the argentometry method and the electrometric method, respectively, with the subsequent calculation of the salinity. Moreover, when measuring the electrical conductivity of sea water, a constant temperature is maintained. Two data series are obtained: chlorine and electrical conductivity of water, which are used to construct a calibration equation. A regression curve is calculated, which is approximated by a second-order polynomial function or a linear function. The resulting regression equation is used to verify the salinity values obtained by measuring the electrical conductivity of sea water. Moreover, the regression equations are obtained for each individual measuring device.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing reliability of verification of measurements of the salinity of sea water.
