In the method, determining the location of the train relative to passenger platforms is based on the method of echolocation using ultrasonic sensors that determine the obstacle by means of reflection of a sound wave from it and located in the bulwarks of the head and tail cars, and the control device located on the railway vehicle processes the information received from the communication unit with the track and speed sensors and from the unit for processing the ultrasonic signal from the ultrasonic sensors of the head car, having the previously recorded distance from the edge of the platform to the stopping point, forms the remaining distance to the stopping point, which is transmitted to the driving system to form a control braking effect on the system control, and when the tail car approaches the passenger platform, according to the received signal from the ultrasonic sensors located on the tail car, it forms the same remaining distance, taking into account the length of the train and the passing speed of the platform edge by a tail car.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of targeted braking of electric trains.
