SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. A group of inventions is described, including an antisense oligonucleotide for reducing the expression of the programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1), a conjugate of the above antisense oligonucleotide containing a conjugate group targeting the asialoglycoprotein receptor, a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment or prevention of viral liver infections, such as HBV, HCV and HDV infections, parasitic infections such as malaria, toxoplasmosis, leishmaniasis and trypanosomiasis, or liver cancer or liver metastases, an in vivo or in vitro method for reducing PD-L1 expression in a target cell, the use of an antisense oligonucleotide, an antisense oligonucleotide conjugate, or a pharmaceutical composition to produce a drug for the treatment of HBV infection, a method for treating or preventing a disease with the disease being a viral liver infection such as HBV, HCV, and HDV, a parasitic infection such as malaria, toxoplasmosis, leishmaniasis, and trypanosomiasis, or liver cancer or liver metastases, a method for treating or preventing HBV infection.
EFFECT: invention expands the arsenal of tools for reducing PD-L1 expression.
