FIELD: autonomous vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a vehicle control system and device for an autonomous vehicle. The vehicle control system for an autonomous vehicle contains a first control device, a set of first sensors designed to receive information about the vehicle movement and information about the vehicle environment, and a second control device. The first control device is designed to form the first driving plan, which includes the desired transverse positions in the lane or the desired ranges of transverse positions in the lane, which are located one after the other in the direction of vehicle movement. The second control device is designed to exchange data with the first control device and to form a second driving plan other than the first driving plan, based on the first driving plan received from the first control device and the information received by the first sensors. The second driving plan includes target transverse positions in the lane or target ranges of transverse positions in the lane, which are located one after another in the direction of vehicle movement. The second control device also controls the operation of driving the vehicle based on the second driving plan.
EFFECT: improved safety of the autonomous vehicle is achieved.
