FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical synthesis of nanomaterials, namely to an electrochemical method for production of copper oxide nanowhiskers. The method includes electrolysis of a polytungstate melt in a pulsed potentiostatic mode using a platinum anode and copper foil as a cathode, wherein a polytungstate melt containing an equimolar mixture of K2WO4 - Na2WO4 (1:1) and 35% mol. WO3 undergoes electrolysis in a pulsed potentiostatic mode, wherein the voltage pulse value equals 0.975 V with a duration of 0.1 s.
EFFECT: proposed method allows producing copper oxide nanowhiskers with a large length to thickness ratio in a single stage.
