FIELD: medicine; diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to diagnostics, it can be used in the screening of breast cancer using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with intravenous contrast. To do this, an intravenous catheter is installed in the department of mammology. The patient is moved to the MRI department. Pre-contrast tomography is performed with suppression of the signal from adipose tissue to obtain T1 images of the breast. A contrast agent is injected. Post-contrast tomography is performed first with T1 images with suppression of the signal from adipose tissue, then with T2 images without suppression of the signal from adipose tissue.
EFFECT: method provides the most effective and reliable diagnostics, including tumor formations of the smallest sizes, including low-contrast tumors, due to a certain sequence of performing a series of images at the pre-contrast and post-contrast stages of the study, which allows one to identify formations that require a more detailed assessment against the background of the overall picture of the breast condition, with the possible identification of additional suspicious foci in all breast tissues while reducing the time of the study, which accordingly reduces the patient's discomfort during the study and the negative impact of ionizing radiation.
