FIELD: authentication and verification of material object integrity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of authentication and verification of the integrity of material objects. Authentication and/or verification of the integrity of an object is performed by means of an electronic device, with the help of which an authentication image is superimposed on the image of the authentication area of the object in question or a control image of the authentication area of the object in question; and in the case of an optical phenomenon such as a Glass pattern, the similarity coefficient between the control and authentication images is calculated and, if the similarity coefficient is higher than the specified threshold, the conclusion is made, that the object in question is an authentic object and/or has at least partial integrity of the authentic object's authentication area.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to measure the similarity between two images or to measure under operational conditions on an image consisting of an overlay of two images, without requiring significant computing power.
