SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of information technology, namely to the field of generating a digital signature of the surface of a material element. A method for generating at least one digital signature of at least one surface of a material element, called the test surface, while this method is carried out using a data processing system, and for each test surface (S_1), this method comprises the steps, at which (E30) an offset image (IM_1) is obtained, (E50) at least one zone of interest (ZI_1, ZI_2, ZI_3, ZI_4) on the specified offset image (IM_1) and obtain (E70) the corrected image (IM_2) by correcting the specified offset image (IM_1) using the specified reference image (IM_M), generate (E90) a digital signature based on the specified corrected image (IM_2) , while the specified digital signature characterizes the structure of the specified test surface (S_1).
EFFECT: technical result is aimed at improving the accuracy of selecting the digital signature of the surface based on the image.
