FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device for increasing the energy efficiency of an asynchronous electric drive containing an asynchronous three-phase squirrel-cage motor and a magnetic starter, a phase meter and / or a current sensor, the output of which is connected to the controller. The controller has a power source, and its output is connected to the coil of the switching contactor, the contacts of which in position I connect the motor windings to a delta circuit when the power factor and / or current of the electric motor increases with a time delay, and in position II the motor windings are connected to the star circuit when decreasing power factor and / or current.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the energy efficiency of the electric drive and its reliability.
