FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for producing titanium slag in ore-thermal furnaces. The device includes a container in the form of a metal casing made of sections, a lining in the form of a hemispherical cooled hearth and a furnace shaft, a tap-hole for draining the smelting products, a furnace roof made in the form of a water-cooled caisson with branch pipes for supplying and discharging water and a slab of heat-resistant concrete, on which contains a device for supplying the charge, a flue for removing exhaust gases and graphite electrodes with current leads and contact assemblies. The device is equipped with a cooling system for graphite electrodes, consisting of two removable cooling sections, made of half-rings of water and air cooling with nozzles for spraying coolants, mounted around each graphite electrode and installed over a water-cooled caisson, pipes for supplying coolants, pipelines for supplying coolants , a filter, a collector for the intake of coolants, shut-off and control equipment installed on pipelines for supplying coolants, a control stand for instrumentation and flow meters.
EFFECT: increased service life of graphite electrodes and reduced consumption of graphite electrodes when producing titanium slags in an ore-thermal furnace.
