FIELD: tire manufacturing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cutting device (1) and method for cutting section (L) of continuous strip (S) to form tire component (9). The cutting device contains cutting element (2) to cut the continuous stripe at cut point (C) and feeding element (3) made with the possibility of movement in feeding direction (F) to feed the section of the continuous stripe in the specified feeding direction to specified cut point (C). Feeding element (3) is made with the possibility of the offshoot in offshoot direction (R). The cutting device additionally contains manipulator (5) for holding section (L) during the offshoot of feeding element (3) in the offshoot direction. The cut point is located at the manipulator, and cutting element (2) and manipulator (5) are made with the possibility of movement together in feeding direction (F) to cut the section of the continuous stripe at the cut point at the manipulator with the simultaneous movement of the section of the continuous stripe in the specified feeding direction.

EFFECT: invention provides a cutting device and a method for cutting a section of a continuous stripe to from a tire component, in which a cutting impact on feeding the continuous stripe in the device can be reduced.
