SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and can be used by a transmitting device for communicating in a wireless communication network. Disclosed is a method for communicating in a network performed by a transmitter that has at least two radio link control (RLC) objects and is configured using a split virtual channel to a receiver. The method consists in the fact that the transmitter identifies that the last transmitted protocol data unit (PDU) for one of at least two specified RLC objects does not contain a poll command indicator requesting the status of one or more transmitted PDUs. If it is identified that the last transmitted PDU does not contain the poll command indicator, the transmitter sends a PDU having the poll command indicator to the receiver.

EFFECT: more efficient use of resources and reduced waiting time.
