SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods performed by a first node of a communication network with integrated access and backhaul (IAB), controlling data flows when transmitting from a base station to a plurality of user terminals (UE) through an IAB communication network. Decrease in data transmission capacity in the first node is detected, and it is determined that reduction of data transmission capacity has occurred due to overload in one or more specific downstream nodes in the IAB communication network. Data flow control messages are transmitted to a higher node in the IAB-communication network, wherein the data flow control message identifies, in the IAB communication network, one or more nodes for which a data flow control operation is requested with respect to data transmitted from a higher node.
EFFECT: reduced loss of data packets.
