FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of sorbents. The method for producing goethite includes the treatment of iron (III) chloride crystalline hydrate at atmospheric pressure with ultrahigh-frequency waves with a power of 300 W for 3-4 minutes. Iron (III) chloride crystalline hydrate weighing 50 g is placed in a layer 5-6 mm thick on a flat substrate.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify the production of goethite by conducting the process in one stage in a short period of time to obtain a chemically pure product, and to increase the environmental friendliness of the process.
