SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to a method for producing microspheres of iron oxide Fe3O4, which can be used as an effective anode material for chemical current sources, a cyanobactericidal reagent that prevents the reproduction of blue-green algae, a sensor material for measuring ultraviolet radiation and magnetic, as a radiopaque an agent in magnetic resonance imaging, a magnetic component of a system used for hyperthermic treatment of cancer patients, as well as targeted drug delivery. The proposed method includes microwave and hydrothermal treatment of a solution obtained by dissolving an iron salt in an organic solvent in the presence of an acetate ion in a solution and subsequent drying of the Fe3O4iron oxide microspheres obtained and filtered from the solution. In this case, the solution is prepared by dissolving iron acetate Fe(CH3COO)2 in 96% ethanol at a mass ratio of iron(II) acetate:ethanol=1:(31-43), and microwave treatment is carried out with a frequency of 2.45 GHz and a power 500-850 W in hydrothermal conditions at a pressure of 15-25 bar and at a temperature of 210-220°С with constant stirring at a speed of 300-600 rpm.
EFFECT: reduction of the process duration without the use of environmentally harmful compounds.
