SUBSTANCE: method of portion packaging of a bagged snuff product for use in the mouth cavity includes a) supplying and advancing a tubular packaging material sheet enclosing a continuously supplied filler in the direction of movement; b) forming transverse seals in the tubular sheet across the continuously supplied filler by ultrasonic welding with an ultrasonic welding unit configured to simultaneously perform transverse welding and cutting of the tubular sheet, wherein the transverse seals are extending in the transverse direction perpendicular to the direction of movement; c) cutting the tubular sheet by means of a cutting edge contained in the welding unit; cutting at this stage is performed in the welding area of the transverse seal; stage c) is performed during stage b); the welding unit comprises a single working surface performing transverse welding and cutting. The device for portion packaging of a bagged snuff product for use in the mouth cavity is comprised of one or more supply units for supplying and advancing a tubular packaging material sheet enclosing a continuously supplied filler in the direction of movement and an ultrasonic welding unit for forming transverse seals in the tubular sheet across the continuously supplied filler. The welding unit is comprised of a cutting edge and configured to simultaneously perform transverse welding and cutting of the tubular sheet. The welding unit comprises a single working surface performing transverse welding and cutting.
EFFECT: increased manufacturing speed of a bagged snuff product for use in the mouth cavity.
