FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to chemical current sources, in particular to bipolar plates of fuel cells and methods of their manufacture. A bipolar plate is a metal plate consisting of a cathode and anode parts that are symmetrical respectively to their centers. The cathode part of the bipolar plate is a corrugated metal plate with distribution channels of rectangular cross-section, through which the oxidizer/cooling agent (air) is supplied. The surfaces of the anode and cathode parts of the bipolar plate are connected by contact welding. The proposed method for manufacturing a bipolar plate includes forming the profile of the cathode part of the bipolar plate in 2 stages, primary and final molding, with step-by-step cold deformation of the workpiece at the first stage and final molding, by pressure treatment at the second stage, connecting the cathode and anode parts of the bipolar plate by contact welding, without the use of solder.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at simplifying the design of the bipolar plate and reducing the critical thinning of the material during the manufacture of the bipolar plate.
