FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used for finishing with free abrasive of flat surfaces of parts. The method includes placing a part in a chamber with an abrasive medium and sealing the abrasive medium by applying external pressure. Details communicate reciprocating movements by means of a cam mechanism with a stop at the end of each stroke, amounting to 0.15Td.s. where Td.s. is the time of the double stroke of the part. The design of the installation used for machining allows the regulation of the double stroke time by changing the rotational speed of the cam, which is rigidly connected to the spindle of the machine.
EFFECT: quality of the processed surface of the parts increases, the processing productivity increases.
