FIELD: rocket and spacecraft equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat-shielding coatings, mainly of hypersonic aircraft. The coating, for example, of the fairing (1), is made in form of layers (2, 4, 6) of erosion-resistant high-temperature material and layers (3, 5) of ablating material with low density and low thermal conductivity. The layers alternate with each other several times. The thickness of the erosion-resistant material layer is 1–2 mm, and the thickness of the ablative material layer is 2–3 mm. The coating can be applied to a metal or composite surface.
EFFECT: effective (in terms of weight) protection of the aircraft structure from overheating and increasing its flight performance.
