FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction, namely to the study of the strength characteristics of frozen soil, it can be used in engineering geology in the study of soil properties before construction, as well as in the reconstruction of buildings and structures. The method for determining the freezing strength of the soil includes placing the test soil in the mold, its freezing, applying a pushing force and fixing the shear force of the soil sample according to the sample of the foundation material. The shear force is fixed in the process of pushing the test soil through the shape in the form of a ring made of the test foundation material.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of the process of determining the freezing strength by reducing the time of testing and its labor intensity due to the possibility of freezing the required number of forms with soil in parallel, as well as in reducing the material consumption.
