FIELD: engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed are an aerosol generating apparatus, a method of activation of the apparatus and a computer-readable storage medium containing a program for implementing the method. The aerosol generating apparatus performs adequate control when the amount of an aerosol source is insufficient. The aerosol generating apparatus is comprised of a power supply, a load generating heat while receiving electricity from the power supply and spraying the aerosol source, an element used to retrieve a value related to the load temperature, a circuit electrically connecting the power supply and the load, a storage medium containing the aerosol source, a holding unit holding the aerosol source incoming from the storage medium to allow the aerosol source to be held in a possible heating state by the load, and a control unit configured to distinguish between a first state of the aerosol generating apparatus wherein the aerosol source stored in the storage medium is insufficient in quantity, and a second state wherein the storage medium is capable of supplying the aerosol source wherein the aerosol source held by the holding unit is insufficient in quantity, based on the change in the value related to the load temperature after operation of the circuit or during operation of the circuit, and to perform a first control while determining the first state and a second control different from the first control while determining the second state.

EFFECT: precise control of an aerosol generating apparatus is provided in case when the aerosol source is insufficient in quantity.
