FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating system which comprises a liquid storage portion for holding a liquid aerosol-forming substrate; a first electrode and a second electrode located at a distance from the first electrode, wherein at least a portion of the liquid storage portion is located between the first electrode and the second electrode; aerosol generation means, comprising one or more aerosol-generating elements, wherein at least one of said aerosol-generating elements comprises one electrode from first electrode and second electrode; and a control system configured to: measure the electrical parameter between the first electrode and the second electrode, and determining the amount of liquid aerosol-forming substrate held in the liquid storage part based on the measured electrical parameter value.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing accurate and reliable determination of the amount of liquid aerosol-forming substrate retained in the liquid storage part.
