SUBSTANCE: proposed are variants of an aerosol generating apparatus and methods of activation of such apparatus, as well as a computer-readable data storage medium containing a program allowing a processor to implement the described methods. The aerosol generating device is comprised of a power supply, a load generating heat while receiving electricity from the power supply and spraying the source of the aerosol, an element used to retrieve a value related to the load temperature. The apparatus also comprises a circuit electrically connecting the power source and the load, a storage medium wherein the aerosol source is stored, a holding unit holding the aerosol source coming from the storage medium to allow the aerosol source to be held in a possible heating state by the load. The control unit is configured to control to increase the held amount of the aerosol source held by the holding unit, or to control to raise the possibility to increase the held amount in at least one of the starting moment of power supply from the power source to the load and the ending moment of power supply from the power source to the load, to control to make the time interval from the end of aerosol generation to the start of the next aerosol generation greater than the previous interval, to invoke operation of the notification tool and to control to make the next time interval greater than the previous interval with further detecting a dry condition or an indication of a dry condition after the operation of the notification tool has been invoked once or more.

EFFECT: precise control of an aerosol generating apparatus is provided in case when the aerosol source is insufficient in quantity.
