FIELD: ceramics production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for producing ceramics containing silver nanoparticles, which can be used as filters to disinfect water from pathogenic bacteria. The method for producing an aluminum oxide ceramic material modified with silver nanoparticles is carried out in two stages. First, the initial aluminum oxide ceramic material having a porosity of 20-40% is treated with ultrasound, preferably at 30 kHz, for 15-30 minutes, then washed with distilled water and immersed in concentrated nitric acid for 2-4 hours, then re-washed with distilled water and dried at a temperature of 140-160°C. Next, the ceramics is placed in a solution of silver methane-sulfonate or silver tri-fluor-acetate in ethylene glycol, kept under shaking or mixing until the solution is evenly distributed over the material surface, followed by the addition of an ethylene glycol solution of ascorbic acid, after which the impregnated material is kept under shaking or mixing at room temperature for 1-2 hours. The extracted ceramic material is washed with distilled water and dried at 70-90°C.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the creation of an industrially feasible process for obtaining effective ceramic filters for water disinfection with low losses of silver in the process of their manufacture.
