FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing aluminum hydroxide powder of pseudoboehmite structure is proposed, including hydration of an alumina product followed by its drying, where the alumina product is obtained by calcining aluminum chloride hexahydrate at a temperature of 400-800°C, and hydration is carried out in autoclave conditions in an aqueous medium at 120÷220°C рН=2÷9 for 2÷5 hours.
EFFECT: development of an environmentally friendly method for producing aluminum hydroxide powders of pseudoboehmite structure with its high content in the final product from an intermediate alumina product obtained by thermal decomposition of crystalline hydrate of aluminum chloride by treating it with aqueous solutions of inorganic compounds under autoclave conditions.
