FIELD: metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metalworking, in particular to methods of manufacturing, restoration and hardening of surfaces of machine parts by electromechanical processing, is aimed at increasing the durability of keyed joints on shafts in conditions of mass and repair production. Essence: the key is installed in the keyway with a gap. Heating and plastic deformation of the shaft keyway is carried out by an electrode-tool for electromechanical processing. The tool electrode is installed from above at an angle of 10 - 45° to the vertical plane and is moved along the keyway along its surface at a distance of 1 - 2.5 mm from the edge of the groove to ensure upsetting and distribution of the shaft metal towards the groove. Shaft metal expansion is limited by a key.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing the energy consumption of the process when obtaining a tight keyed connection on the shafts with simultaneous strengthening of the side surface of the keyway.
