FIELD: metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metalworking, in particular to methods of manufacturing, restoration and hardening of surfaces of machine parts by electromechanical processing, is aimed at increasing the durability of keyed joints on shafts in conditions of mass and repair production. The key is installed in the keyway with a gap. An insulator is installed on the key, which regulates the clearances between the key and the side surfaces of the keyway. Heating and plastic deformation of the shaft keyway is carried out by electrodes-tools for electromechanical processing. Tool electrodes are installed from above at an angle of 10 - 45° to the vertical plane and moved along the keyway along its surface at a distance of 0.5 - 2.5 mm from the edge of the groove, causing settlement and expansion of the shaft metal towards the groove. Shaft metal expansion is limited by a key.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing the energy consumption of the process when obtaining a tight keyed connection on the shafts with simultaneous strengthening of the side surfaces of the keyway.
