The terminal device defines a random access preamble, which includes six groups of symbols; the terminal apparatus determines the frequency location of the random access preamble based on the random access configuration information and a predetermined rule, where the frequency hopping interval between the first and second groups of symbols and the frequency hopping interval between the fifth and sixth groups of symbols are equal and both are the first intervals, the frequency hopping interval between the second and third symbol groups and the frequency hopping interval between the fourth and fifth symbol groups are equal and both are second intervals, and the hopping interval between the third and fourth symbol groups is the third interval; and sending, by the terminal device, a random access preamble based on frequency location.

EFFECT: provided is possibility of performing random access based on the frequency hopping scheme, which corresponds to the modernized random access preamble.
